More public service, the repair post

Yesterday was a Day with a big "D". It started with a cold shower. Not a voluntary cold shower but one like you might take if your hot water heater broke. Yeah, like that. Then I went through a steady string of meetings while fretting over the length of time it would take to get a repaired hot water heater. Oh, and how in heck they'd change it out with the new closet built around it. It's a lot to think about.

I did take a break for lunch. I love lunch.

And finally, I went home with a single possibility: check the breaker. I've been single for eons. I will knock myself out to fix something instead of calling someone or asking for help. And that's probably just stupid but after eons, I don't know that it can be fixed. I checked the breaker.

The breaker was fine. The box with all the danger signs next to the water heater had a switch-y thing. It was fine too.

My friend Mary and her husband Gary made the trip to the ends of the earth to check it out for me. He checked this and that, listened here and there, removed the panels on the front...and pushed two button-y type things to reset them. And I wanted to smack my head against the garage wall. I didn't.

Instead I paid them with a lovely drive through dark and yet scenic Bauxite. We had dinner at the Chick-fil-a and when we got back...just like magic...hot water! Hot water! Hot water! Hot water! No new hot water heater! Yay! I love buttons!
