Hard work being funny

I just had this conversation with Mundane Jane about how it's hard work being funny every day...or at least trying to be funny every day. And then...help from above! Or actually from Sarah in the K/C department. I'm taking it easy today. These are Japanese haikus related to knitting...but any crafter can totally get these. I think it's the characters that make it so funny. The artwork is from the same site. And a blog's gotta have pictures!

Great poetry - just a techical note though -the ones in the first block are haiku (5-7-5 syllable structure) and the ones in the second block are tanka (5-7-5-7-7 syllable structure). The characters at the top of the blocks are numbers - so now you can probably figure out what is 5 and what is 7.

Sorry -I have an MA in Japanese and lived there for 4 years - so I get into "teacher mode" on things like this.
