I need a book carrier. Volunteers?
It was bound to happen sooner or later. I needed a post so I snapped this photo. This is my current stack of free books, checked out from the good ol' Saline County Library (and one from the lending library down in the break room).
They are
Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe
The Spy Who Haunted Me by Simon Green
Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen
Dog On It by Spencer Quinn
The Turnaround by George Pelecanos
I don't think I'm elevated enough for the President's book club yet, but I haven't gotten my invitation either so I figure there's still time.
And this is probably not enough books. I mean, I'm on vacation. And these are free. If they're no good, I'm moving on quickly, you know? Of course, it may take me two trips to carry the dog, our stuffs AND all these hardback books. And there's a whole lot of mystery there. And there's a distressing lack of juicy new fiction paperbacks which you really need for a vacation. I can't decide whether to go book shopping now or in Hot Springs. Or both, I guess. Books are important to the success of my plans.
My next list of things to pull together: movies. And that leaves knitting/crocheting/cross stitch/something to do with my hands other than eat.

Check out the free iTunes podcasts for Radio Lab and The Moth.
I cooked a lot on vacation. Nothing fancy, mind you, but it did save me a lot of money. Also, that's what people who aren't at work all day, do. I think you should cook stuff like funnel cakes and donuts. And cinnamon toast. Yeah. That sounds good.
Will you have internetz? It takes a lot of time to read it all, you know.
If you need more books, you can download them to your Kindle App. If you need more movies you can watch via Netflix watch instantly feature.
Nap. A lot.
