So this is what Darcy does while I clean, move, sort, discard, rest, clean, move, sort discard, rest all day.

Unless the noise gets to be too much or the vacuum cleaner comes out. If the vacuum comes out, she vacates until a better time.

And when my weak cleaning impulses have been subdued, she goes right back to sleep. We've got a system worked out.
