In a stunning turn of events, I found a salon with an opening this weekend and took it against my normal judgement. It worked out OK. What I have now is better than what I walked in with and looks brown in this picture. It's red with white stripes (or maybe they're highlights...I see stripes). I wanted shorter but friendly stylist warned me against making my face look rounder. Looking at this photo, I see her point. And the weird smirk is required to get an iPhone self portrait. It's the equivalent of holding your tongue just right.
On the plus side, it's only hair. The round face is never going away.
