Here's a little St. Patrick's day post. I'm "researching" while I work by reading a book on Ireland and it all just seems to fit together. While you're out eating and/or drinking your green (I'm pretty sure mine will be lettuce), here's some Irish flava.
Blessings:
My best, biggest, and flouriest potatoes to you.
Health of a salmon to you.
Curses (the Irish are tough!):
Six eggs to you and a half dozen of them rotten.
May the devil's dowser dip his twig in your buttermilk.
And a couple toasts for your green beer:
For every wound, a balm.
For every sorrow, a cheer.
For every storm, a calm.
For every thirst, a beer.
May the roof above us never all in,
And may us good companions beneath it
Never fall out.
