Knitting progress

So...thank goodness I roped someone else into the whole "Knitting Olympics" idea. Mary...no update. We've had a work olympics going on around here at the same time and I think that's put a damper on our knitability. Jean, seen here represented by the wrap she's knitting for a friend of a friend, has reached a whopping 28". We estimate that's somewhere around half way. And then there's my sock...I wanted to hold on to it and surprise you with my stunning finish. We'll see. Since I definitely won't have a pair by the deadline (Sunday, February 28), I'm hoping to have cast on the second sock. I'm about 2" from the toe on the first sock.

Of course, I must also take Darcy to the vet. This requires finding her leash and harness, loading her into the car, chasing her around and around said car to get her out again at the vet, and leaving copious amounts of dog hair and a bit of spit on the floor at the vet. Then we have to go for a walk. That's just the way it is. And then I have to rest for A Very Long Time before I do laundry. If I don't do it, I will be forced to wear my collection of Halloween costumes to work next week.

And then the sock. I mean it.

The scarf is really nice. It reminded me of the one I just completed, which you can see at: http://artquiltmaker.com/blog/2010/02/knitted-scarf-complete/

The color is very similar. I found, while knitting this, that I would like to do something lacier. I was excited when I saw the scarf you show. I also like the idea of using a tape measure to say how long it is. I am not sure why I didn't think of it.o
